Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
About
Kelvin Dupera, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner qualified to diagnose, treat and prescribe medication for children, adolescents, adults and older adults. His areas of expertise include PTSD, ADHD, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, eating disorders and addictions.
Kelvin began his career as a Mental Health Technician at South Florida State Hospital, where he saw firsthand how mental health conditions affect individuals and families — an experience that shaped his dedication to accessible, empathetic and effective care.
His therapeutic approach combines empathic listening with evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and mindfulness. He has a particular interest in treatment-resistant depression, including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Kelvin treats the whole person, not just symptoms, and when needed helps guide patients to higher levels of care such as intensive outpatient or partial hospitalization programs.
