Medication Management & Pharmacogenomics
Personalized psychiatric medication management in Florida — including pharmacogenomic testing that can help guide medication choices when past treatments haven’t worked.

About this service
Finding the right psychiatric medication can feel like guesswork — try one, wait weeks, adjust, repeat. Health Haven's medication management service is designed to make that process more informed — and less trial-and-error. Our psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners combine clinical expertise with modern tools, including genetic testing when it fits, so choices are guided by your history and your biology, not just by time.
How does the process start?
Every medication plan begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We review your full history — what you've tried, what worked, what didn't, and how your body responded. We also consider your other medications and medical conditions, because interactions matter.
What is pharmacogenomic testing?
For patients who have struggled to find an effective medication, we offer pharmacogenomic testing — a simple test that analyzes how your genes affect your response to psychiatric medications. The results show how your genes may affect the way your body processes certain medications. They don't choose a medication for you — no test can — but they give your provider additional information to guide selection and dosing, especially when past medications haven't worked or caused side effects. Testing is processed through GeneSight.
Is medication management ongoing?
Yes — never "set it and forget it." We monitor your progress closely, adjust doses thoughtfully, watch for side effects, and check in regularly. If something isn't working, we change course — with you, not around you.
Our philosophy is simple: the lowest effective dose, the fewest medications necessary, and your full participation in every decision. We explain benefits, risks, and alternatives in plain language. We don't over-prescribe, and we never rush you.
Whether you're starting medication for the first time, rethinking a regimen that isn't working, or looking for a provider who takes prescribing seriously — we're here. Call (863) 261-8354 or book online for in-person or telehealth care.
