Psychiatric Care for Greenacres Residents

Greenacres is a dense, working family city in central Palm Beach County: 43,990 residents (2020 Census) packed into 5.94 square miles, roughly 7,407 people per square mile (2020 Census) and one of the densest municipalities in the county. It was platted by L. C. Swain beginning in 1923 as a place with homes for the middle class, incorporated on May 24, 1926 with the slogan "A Good Place to Live," and it is still a city of families — 23.3% of residents are under 18 and 35.3% of households have children at home (2020 Census), with five elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school inside its own borders. It is also a majority non-English-at-home city: 58.1% of persons age 5 and up speak a language other than English at home (ACS 2020–2024), in a city that is 44.74% Hispanic or Latino (2020 Census) and 44.8% (ACS 2020–2024) — two series that converge on the same number.

Psychiatry is not missing from Greenacres. Directory searches surfaced Psychiatry Wellness Center and Janell Tabora at 6801 Lake Worth Rd (ZIP 33467 — a building whose city label varies by directory between Greenacres and Lake Worth Beach) and Dr. Spencer Kreger at 5887 Lake Worth Rd, alongside psychology and counseling along the same road. Health Haven serves patients from Greenacres from its Atlantis office at 101 John F Kennedy Dr — roughly ~4–5 miles and ~10–15 minutes (est.) from central Greenacres — in the medical district by HCA Florida JFK Medical Center, with Spravato and TMS at the West Palm Beach flagship — Spravato is also offered at Okeechobee and Stuart (Ocean Blvd), and TMS also at Okeechobee.

Getting here

Health Haven Atlantis — 101 John F Kennedy Dr, Atlantis, FL 33462 · (561) 285-3623

From central Greenacres — the Jog Rd / Lake Worth Rd area — the trip is roughly ~4–5 miles, about ~10–15 minutes (est.): Lake Worth Rd east to Congress Ave south, or Jog Rd south to Lantana Rd east to Congress Ave north (est. — corridor logic from the city's own named arterials, not a routed itinerary). The office at 101 John F Kennedy Dr sits in Atlantis's medical district by HCA Florida JFK Medical Center at 5301 S Congress Ave — a landmark residents already orient by, and nothing more than that. Atlantis itself sits about 2.72 miles southeast of Greenacres center-to-center.

Distance depends on which end of the city you start from. From the Lantana Rd side in the south (33463), the office is closer — roughly ~2–3 miles (est.). From the Forest Hill Blvd side in the north (33413), it is farther — roughly ~6–7 miles, ~15–20 minutes (est.).

Lake Worth Rd, Forest Hill Blvd, Tenth Avenue North and Jog Rd are the city's commercial spine, and all four are signalized arterials: school-zone and plaza traffic at peak hours can push the short Atlantis hop past its off-peak minutes (est.). For the West Palm Beach flagship, Congress Ave runs north from Atlantis through Palm Springs and past the Forest Hill / Southern Blvd line — roughly ~9–11 miles, ~20–25 minutes (est.). I-95 (interchanges at Lantana Rd and at Forest Hill Blvd / Southern Blvd, est.) and Florida's Turnpike west of Jog Rd are the highway options, though for trips this short the surface arterials are the natural route (est.).

Care available

Here's what we offer at our Atlantis office.

  • Psychiatric evaluations — a careful first look at what's going on, so we can talk through next steps together.
  • Medication management — prescribing and ongoing check-ins, adjusted as we learn what fits.
  • Therapy — psychotherapy and counseling, one on one, at a pace that feels manageable.
  • Addiction recovery — support for substance use, wherever you are in the process.

Spravato and TMS are not offered at Atlantis. Both are at the West Palm Beach flagship at 4400 N Congress Ave, Suite 203 — roughly ~9–11 miles and ~20–25 minutes (est.) north on Congress Ave from Greenacres, the closest office offering both — and no Spravato or TMS offering surfaced at a Greenacres address in directory searches. Telehealth appointments are available anywhere in Florida, as long as you're physically in Florida at the time of your appointment. We see patients 12 and up (children 8 and up by referral), accept most major insurance plans — see /insurance — and have seven Spanish-speaking providers across the Health Haven team practice-wide.

Living here

Greenacres was platted by Lawrence Carter "L. C." Swain beginning in 1923 — nearly 1,000 acres aimed at middle-class families priced out of the coastal resort boom — and incorporated as Greenacres City on May 24, 1926 with an estimated 1,250 residents, the name won in a naming contest and the slogan "A Good Place to Live" chosen at the same time. The 1926 Miami hurricane and the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane both hit hard; the city was dis-incorporated in 1945, re-established the same year, reincorporated in 1947, and residents voted to drop "City" in 1990. Swain Blvd and L. C. Swain Middle School carry the founder's name, and the city has been a Tree City USA since 1992.

The whole K–12 ladder sits inside the city — five elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school, all Palm Beach County School District: Greenacres Elementary at 405 Jackson Ave, Liberty Park Elementary at 6601 Constitution Way, L. C. Swain Middle at 5332 Lake Worth Rd, and John I. Leonard High School at 4701 10th Ave N, which opened in 1965, was annexed into Greenacres in January 1994, and is the largest high school in Palm Beach County, with 3,262 students (NCES, 2024–2025).

Outside, the city counts 11 parks totaling over 93 acres, anchored by Samuel J. Ferreri Community Park at 2905 Jog Rd — a 16.75-acre park per its directory listing, with tennis and pickleball courts, a multi-use field, playgrounds and a jogging path — and the Greenacres Branch of the Palm Beach County Library System at 3750 S Jog Rd. Adjacent on the city's western limit sits Okeeheelee Park, a county park of over 1,700 acres with nature trails, fishing and the Okeeheelee golf course — adjacent, not a Greenacres city park.

Both ends of the family spectrum live inside the same six square miles: River Bridge, the gated master-planned community off Forest Hill Blvd west of Jog Rd (roughly 1,100 homes, per realtor community profiles), and Poinciana Place, an established 55-plus community built around a golf course. Median household income is $70,491 (ACS 2020–2024), and the largest industries for residents are health care and social assistance, retail trade and construction (ACS 2024).

Why patients come

Greenacres already has psychiatry along Lake Worth Rd — Psychiatry Wellness Center and Janell Tabora at 6801 Lake Worth Rd (ZIP 33467) and Dr. Spencer Kreger at 5887 Lake Worth Rd — plus a counseling and psychology layer on the same road. Health Haven's position is different and precise: serving patients from Greenacres from Atlantis, a full practice on roads residents already drive, with Spanish-speaking providers practice-wide and the West Palm Beach flagship for the treatments Atlantis doesn't offer. In one practice you'll find evaluations, medication management, therapy and addiction recovery, shaped around a dense family city's real needs — adolescents and parents, working-age strain, and substance use — and on the days the drive doesn't fit, telehealth from home.

  • A short drive away — roughly ~4–5 miles, ~10–15 minutes (est.) from central Greenacres, via Lake Worth Rd and Congress Ave.
  • Care in one practice — evaluations, medication management, therapy and addiction recovery under one Atlantis practice, roughly ~10–15 minutes (est.) out.
  • Spanish-speaking providers — seven practice-wide, in a city where 58.1% of persons age 5 and up speak a language other than English at home (ACS 2020–2024).
  • Telehealth from home — appointments from anywhere in Florida, on the days making the drive isn't practical.
