Communities we serve

Psychiatric Care for Lake Worth Beach Residents

Lake Worth Beach is a dense, young, working city of 42,219 people (2020 Census) on the Lake Worth Lagoon — 50.3% Hispanic or Latino (ACS 2020–2024), with 57.3% of residents age 5 and up speaking a language other than English at home (ACS 2020–2024). It is a city of two avenues, Lake Ave and Lucerne Ave, of the Playhouse at 713 Lake Ave, of the Street Painting Festival that closes both avenues each February, and of a Guatemalan Maya community that has made this its home for over three decades. It is also a city with real behavioral-health presence of its own: a psychiatric outpatient department downtown on S Dixie Hwy, a Spanish-advertising therapy clinic on 10th Ave N, and a larger psychiatry corridor a few miles west on Lake Worth Rd, outside the city line.

Health Haven serves patients from Lake Worth Beach — we have no office in the city. Our Atlantis office, at 101 John F Kennedy Dr, sits just west of the city line in Atlantis, roughly ~5 miles and ~12–15 minutes (est.) from downtown via Lake Worth Road and Congress Avenue. That is the closest Health Haven office to this spoke by a wide margin, and Atlantis is already a familiar destination for Lake Worth Beach residents. The West Palm Beach flagship, at 4400 N Congress Ave, Suite 203, is roughly ~11 miles and ~20–25 minutes (est.) north on Congress Avenue.

Getting here

Health Haven Atlantis — 101 John F Kennedy Dr, Atlantis, FL 33462 · (561) 285-3623

From downtown Lake Worth Beach, one corridor does most of the work. SR 802 runs east–west through the city as Lake Avenue and Lucerne Avenue; head west on Lake Ave / Lucerne Ave into Lake Worth Road (SR 802), then south on Congress Avenue to John F Kennedy Drive in Atlantis. Our Atlantis office (101 John F Kennedy Dr) sits just west of the city line — roughly ~5 miles, ~12–15 minutes (est.). The southern alternative is south on Dixie Highway and west on Lantana Road to Congress (est.).

For the West Palm Beach flagship, take Congress Avenue north the whole way — Lake Worth Road west to Congress, then north through Palm Springs to 4400 N Congress Ave — or I-95 north from the 10th Ave N or 6th Ave S ramps and west to Congress (est.). That's roughly ~11 miles, ~20–25 minutes (est.); for reference, the sourced city-to-city downtown Lake Worth Beach to West Palm Beach anchor is 9 miles by road, about 12 minutes by car. Both drives are short, so distance isn't the barrier here — the real frictions are SR 802 (Lake Worth Road) and Congress Avenue signal congestion at peak, plus I-95 ramp traffic (est.), against a citywide mean commute of 26.8 minutes (ACS 2020–2024).

Care available

Here's what we offer at our Atlantis office.

  • Psychiatric evaluations — a careful first look at what's going on, so we can talk through next steps together.
  • Medication management — prescribing and ongoing check-ins, adjusted as we learn what fits.
  • Therapy — talk-based care, one on one, at a pace that feels manageable.
  • Addiction recovery — support for substance use, wherever you are in the process.

Lake Worth Beach already has behavioral-health options inside the city — Chrysalis Health's Psychiatric and Outpatient Department at 230 S Dixie Hwy and Ellie Mental Health at 2290 10th Ave N both advertise Spanish. What Health Haven adds, a short drive away in Atlantis, is Spanish-speaking psychiatry — evaluations and medication management, not only counseling — with seven Spanish-speaking providers on the team practice-wide. Telehealth appointments are available anywhere in Florida, as long as you're physically in Florida at the time of your appointment. We see patients 12 and up (children 8 and up by referral) and accept most major insurance plans — see /insurance. For Spravato and TMS: Spravato is offered at our West Palm Beach flagship — and also at Okeechobee and Stuart (Ocean Blvd) — and TMS at West Palm Beach and Okeechobee, not at Atlantis.

Living here

Downtown turns on two avenues. SR 802 splits through the center as Lake Avenue and Lucerne Avenue, lined with art galleries, sidewalk cafés, and night clubs in a Historic Old Town Commercial District whose contributing buildings date from 1912 to 1949. The Lake Worth Playhouse, at 713 Lake Ave, has presented dramas, comedies, musicals, and independent films since 1953 out of the 1929 Oakley Theatre building. The Cultural Plaza at Lake Avenue and M Street hosts the monthly Lake Ave Block Party and the mainstage of the Street Painting Festival, which closes Lake Ave and Lucerne Ave between Dixie and Federal Highways each February — Wikipedia's standing summary puts it at about 100,000 people and more than 600 artists. Bryant Park, bounded by Lucerne Ave, S Federal Hwy, 5th Ave S, and the Intracoastal, holds an Addison Mizner-designed 1930s bandshell. Across the Robert A. Harris Bridge, the municipal beach offers 1,300 feet of guarded shoreline, the Lake Worth Casino Building and Beach Complex, and the William O. Lockhart Municipal Pier at 10 S Ocean Blvd; just north of the bridge, the Snook Islands Natural Area is a 118-acre wetland restoration with a boardwalk, floating dock, and kayak launch. The Lake Worth Beach City Library, at 15 North M Street, is a city library — a Mediterranean-style building completed in 1941 — not a county branch.

Families are the city's center of gravity: 23.5% of residents were under 18 and 31.7% of households had children at home (2020 Census). Four elementary schools sit inside the city boundaries — Barton, Highland, North Grade, and South Grade — and all public high school students are assigned to Lake Worth Community High School at 1701 Lake Worth Rd, established 1922 and the oldest continuously operating high school in Palm Beach County. The Guatemalan Maya Center, at 1776 Lake Worth Rd, has served uprooted families in Palm Beach County for over 30 years, with census outreach conducted in Popti', Q'anjob'al, Mam, and K'iche — a reminder that for many residents here, Indigenous language comes first. The city's own numbers reflect a working community: median household income $61,200, 21.2% in poverty, and 33.8% of under-65 residents without health insurance (ACS 2020–2024).

Why patients come

Lake Worth Beach is not a care desert — a psychiatric outpatient department sits downtown on Dixie Hwy, a Spanish-advertising therapy clinic sits on 10th Ave N, and a denser psychiatry corridor sits a few miles west on Lake Worth Rd, outside the city line. What Health Haven offers from Atlantis, roughly ~12–15 minutes away (est.), is Spanish-speaking psychiatry — evaluations and medication management, not only counseling — in one practice, with the full service set including Spravato and TMS at the West Palm Beach flagship when that's what's needed. Spravato is also offered at our Okeechobee office and at Stuart (Ocean Blvd); TMS is also offered at Okeechobee. On the days a drive doesn't fit around work hours, childcare, or a repeat visit, telehealth from home is available anywhere in Florida.

  • Minutes, not miles — the Atlantis office is roughly ~12–15 minutes (est.) from downtown, on roads Lake Worth Beach residents already drive.
  • Spanish-speaking psychiatry, not only counseling — seven Spanish-speaking providers practice-wide, for evaluations and medication management.
  • Care in one practice — evaluations, medication management, therapy, and addiction recovery at Atlantis, with Spravato and TMS at the West Palm Beach flagship. Spravato is also offered at our Okeechobee office and at Stuart (Ocean Blvd); TMS is also offered at Okeechobee.
  • Telehealth for scheduling — appointments from anywhere in Florida, for the days making the drive doesn't fit your day.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a psychiatrist in Lake Worth Beach?

Yes — psychiatry-category supply surfaced inside the city. Chrysalis Health's Psychiatric and Outpatient Department sits downtown at 230 S Dixie Hwy (its facility profile states services in Spanish, with Medicaid and a sliding fee scale), a PMHNP listing surfaced on 10th Ave N, and WebMD address listings appear on S Dixie Hwy and 40th Way S. A larger psychiatry corridor sits a few miles west on Lake Worth Rd in Greenacres / unincorporated Lake Worth (33467) — outside the city. Health Haven serves patients from Lake Worth Beach from our Atlantis office at 101 John F Kennedy Dr, Atlantis, FL 33462.

How long is the drive from Lake Worth Beach to Health Haven?

To Atlantis, roughly ~5 miles and ~12–15 minutes (est.) — west on Lake Worth Road (SR 802) from Lake Ave / Lucerne Ave, then south on Congress Ave to 101 John F Kennedy Dr. To the West Palm Beach flagship, roughly ~11 miles and ~20–25 minutes (est.) north on Congress Ave or I-95; for reference, the sourced city-to-city downtown Lake Worth Beach to West Palm Beach anchor is 9 miles by road, about 12 minutes by car. Most major insurance plans are accepted — see /insurance.

¿Hay atención en español para pacientes de Lake Worth Beach? / Is care available in Spanish?

Yes. Health Haven has seven Spanish-speaking providers on the team practice-wide. Lake Worth Beach is 50.3% Hispanic or Latino (ACS 2020–2024), and 57.3% of residents age 5 and up speak a language other than English at home (ACS 2020–2024). In the city itself, Chrysalis (230 S Dixie Hwy) and Ellie Mental Health (2290 10th Ave N) also advertise Spanish — so we won't claim to be the only Spanish option. What we offer a short drive away in Atlantis is Spanish-speaking psychiatry: evaluations and medication management, not only counseling.

Does Health Haven have an office in Lake Worth Beach?

No. Health Haven serves patients from Lake Worth Beach — we have no office in the city. Our offices are 101 John F Kennedy Dr, Atlantis, FL 33462 and 4400 N Congress Ave, Suite 203, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. Call (561) 285-3623.

Can I get Spravato or TMS as a Lake Worth Beach patient?

Not at Atlantis — our Atlantis office offers psychiatric evaluations, medication management, therapy, addiction recovery, and telehealth. Spravato and TMS are offered at the West Palm Beach flagship, at 4400 N Congress Ave, Suite 203 — roughly ~11 miles and ~20–25 minutes (est.) north on Congress Ave from Lake Worth Beach. Call (561) 285-3623 and we'll route you to the right office. Spravato is also offered at our Okeechobee office and at Stuart (Ocean Blvd); TMS is also offered at Okeechobee.

Can I do appointments from home in Lake Worth Beach instead of driving?

Yes. Telehealth is available anywhere in Florida, as long as you are physically in Florida at the time of your appointment. On a short-drive spoke like this one, telehealth's real value is scheduling — work hours, childcare, and repeat visits — rather than distance.

What about care in Mam, Q'anjob'al or K'iche?

Health Haven's sourced language claim is Spanish-speaking providers — seven practice-wide — and we do not claim Mayan-language care. Lake Worth Beach has a large Guatemalan Maya community, served locally by the Guatemalan Maya Center at 1776 Lake Worth Rd, whose outreach works in Popti', Q'anjob'al, Mam, and K'iche. No Mayan-language behavioral-health provider surfaced in directory searches for the city.
